Anniversary with the Sabres

romantic night

A romantic night wouldn’t be complete without Canadian beer

On January 23, Presley and I marked our 7th anniversary, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it than at the Sabres-Bruins hockey game. Am I right?

Just so you don’t think I’m weird, our first “date” was a Sabres game (in Buffalo) in December of 1996. So, it was a nice reminder for us, and it was cool. Thanks to Craigslist, we got first-row, on-the-glass seats. Amazing.

If you don’t mind my asking, roughly how much dough did you shell out for the tickets? My wife, friends and I often get to some hockey and NBA games, but we only rarely get a decent deal.

    Colin,

Well, we used to have season tickets in Buffalo, which is relatively cheap… but, Boston is far more expensive. Because these were season ticket seats, their face value was $99, and the guy gave them to me for $100 each. If I tried to buy seats like that from the box office, they would be much more.

The guy was nice. Also, the Bruins don’t sell out every game, especially against a last-place team like Buffalo. He probably figured face-value was better than nothing.
